Purchasing-card exceptions that focus the review
Turning review criteria into repeatable rules for unusual transaction patterns.
Context
Managers and Finance needed a way to focus their attention on purchasing-card activity requiring further review.
My contribution
Developed exception logic covering statistical outliers, transaction frequency, approved limits and potential transaction splitting.
Approach
Flagged transactions more than three standard deviations above a cardholder’s 12-month trailing average, more than 10 daily transactions, approved-limit breaches and same-day merchant/location aggregations.
Value
Provided a repeatable basis for identifying activity requiring investigation. A flag indicates a review item, not a finding of misuse.
